Our goal for this event is to raise funds and online donations to help these refugee organizations and communities have a brighter holiday.
The Burmese Rohingya Community of Wisconsin serves resettled Burmese and Rohingya Refugees in Milwaukee. Through our silent auction and registration, we will raise funds to support the BRCW in retaining its building, a vital space for refuge, prayer, and ESL learning, and its utility bills after recent funding cuts.
Open Door for Refugees serves resettled refugees from Central Africa, Middle Eastern, and Latin American countries by setting up fully furnished homes in Madison and surrounding areas. We will be fundraising through our Amazon Wish List of essential items. Enter the grand prize drawing by ordering items from the Amazon Wish List (click on the green/bold Amazon Wish List to order). You will receive one ticket for each item ordered to enter our grand prize drawing. Online orders must be shown to receive a ticket(s). The grand prize drawing will be drawn after the speakers.
Donations will be presented to the two organizations during the second week in December. You do not need to be present for the silent auction.
