About me

Mari is a Korean adoptee raised in Madison and is excited to contribute her leadership and planning with AMASIAN and its mission of fostering connection and growth within the Asian American community in Wisconsin.

Mari's career has been in fitness and wellness for 30 years. She is globally certified in many formats, including; 200 hours of yoga, 500-hour Pilates mat, reformer, chair, and Cadillac, Personal training, nutrition, and group instruction like bootcamp, TRX, and Les Mills classes. For the last 25 years, she has provided leadership and management of all facets of a fitness department, including operations, staff, scheduling, training, and budget for over a team of 50 instructors, trainers, and facilitators, as well as teaching and training her own classes. Currently, she has moved into the wellness space to manage and open Degree Wellness. A holistic wellness lounge offering science-backed services like: red light therapy, cryotherapy, cold plunge, infrared sauna, compression therapy, IV drips, and boosters all under one roof.  Degree Wellness will be opening this winter. She manages the pre-opening and pre-sale events and post-opening to oversee daily studio operations, lead and coach wellness associates, and is responsible for sales and financial performance, including profit and loss.

Taking her fitness knowledge out of the gym and into the community Mari loves to teach and educate the next generation of fitness educators by contributing to the Madison Advisory Board at Madison College for Fitness, Recreation, and Wellness Academic Programs.

In her free time, Mari loves to stay active and travels whenever possible to explore the world and different cultures. She is excited to contribute her leadership and planning to AMASIAN.
